Jelmer Pietersma wins in Berlicum

BERLICUM - The start of the mountain bike season took place in Berlikum last Sunday and with great success for the BeOne /Chainreaction team
All our team riders were at the start of this opening event, Jelmer, Hans, Rick and Tim.
Victory nr.1 in 2008
What started as a rainy and cold morning ended into a sunny and one man success story of Jelmer Pietersma. From the start the BeOne/Chainreaction rider set the pace and was leading the bunch, in the second lap of the race he felt so strong that he left the leading group and stormed to the finish after a great solo ride beating the competition by far.
Top 10
All the other BeOne/Chainreaction riders ended under the top ten ,a great success. Hans and Rick were the entire race together ,Hans finishing on a solid 10th position and Rick crossing the finish as the nr 8.
For Tim the race was less successful although his final position nr. 7 was great especially under the circumstances. Close behind the leaders and just about to join them ,he hit a child in the service zone and crashed. Luckily both were ok but it cost him a top position.
