Tuesday 14 May 2008
After a long period without competition, Elsbeth has made a beautiful comeback in Belgium. She was out for 6 months with several physical problems.
The Dutch rider from team BeOne Chainreaction.com was all the happier to be able to line up at the start of 3rd Benelux cup race on a nice, sunny day. "It turned out OK. The form is coming" she said. From start to finish she lead the race and confirmed her good form. This promises more for the next races.
Vink is still working for her place in the Olympic MTB race.
In the mens race, the riders from BeOne Chainreaction.com started with ambition. Jelmer Pietersma placed second in GC and Thijs Al started in his first XC race this season.
The field started really fast and Thijs was up in front with competitors Davy Coenen, Bas Peters and Frank Schotman. After a two hour race Chris Jongewaard wins solo 30 seconds ahead. Jelmer finished 6th, Thijs 7th.
